Kurama is in charge of research and pretty much everything else in the facility that Lucy, Nana and Mariko are all contained
in. He has a special relationship with Nana, and regards her as his daughter. Kurama seems cold and unfeeling, but really
he is quite a compassionate man. When Nana is incapacitated by Lucy in their fight, Kurama is ordered to decommission (kill)
her. Instead, Kurama gives her prosthetic limbs and sends her off secretly. *SPOILER WARNING!!*
Mariko is Kurama's real daughter. When Mariko tries to kill Nana, Kurama kills both Mariko and himself to save his "daughter".
